Gieri Cathomas is a medical doctor and studied at the University of Zurich and Humboldt University Berlin. Prior to joining GlobeHealer he was founding and establishing several companies in the field of medical services, medical consulting and medical IT and IoMT. He is also a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Zurich, where he is co-responsible for the module in Health Sector Management. Dr. Cathomas is fluent in German, English and Romansch.
Sameer Bhandari, MBBS, MD, DA, FRCA
Dr. Bhandari has completed his MBBS and MD (anesthesia) at JIPMER, Pondicherry, India, and has lived in the UK since 1995. Dr. Bhandari works as a consultant in Anesthesia and Intensive Care at Pinderfields General Hospital, Wakefield since 2000. His main areas of interests are major burns, regional anesthesia, and disaster management. Dr. Bhandari is the course director of the MYRAG regional anesthesia course, and teach on various regional anesthesia courses nationally and internationally.
Dr. Bhandari was a part of the emergency medical relief in Haiti in 2010 and has been doing charity work in Sierra Leone for the past four years, where regional anesthesia techniques have been put to good use. He is part of an international faculty on burns, especially temperature management and has presented papers and lectured all over Europe and South Asia.
Andrew S. Wechsler, MD, FACC, FAHA
Dr. Wechsler is Professor Emeritus of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Editor Emeritus of the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. He was Professor of Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University and Duke University.
He has served as Visiting Professor at more than 50 institutions nationally and internationally and has served on many scientific advisory committees for major medical device and pharmaceutical firms, DSMBs and the Leducq Foundation. He served as CEO of CTSnet and is on the New York State Cardiac Advisory Committee.
Prof. Dr. Jürg Grünenfelder
Prof. Jürg Grünenfelder, MD is a board certified in Cardiovascular Surgeon (FMH), in Switzerland. He studied medicine at University of Zurich and served as a resident, clinical and research fellow at the Cardio-Vascular Surgery unit at University Hospital Zürich, Cardiac Pathology (Cardiac Registry) at Harvard University Children’s Hospital in Boston, Cardiac Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and in Cardiac Transplantation at Stanford University Medical Center, Palo Alto. Prof. Grünenfelder has a full Professorship in Cardiovascular Surgery at University of Zurich and was staff member for over ten years in Cardio-Vascular Surgery at the University Hospital in Zürich before founding and becoming the director of the Heart Clinic Zurich at Klinik Hirslanden, Zurich. He specialized in minimally-invasive valve surgery as well as catheter-based valve implantation (TAVI). Prof Grünenfelder is also a member of several medical associations such as the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (ISMICS) and the European Association of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS).
Prof. Grünenfelder is the President of the Medical Advisory Board of SMC – Swiss Medical Concierge.
Bishnu Panigrahi, MD
Dr. Bishnu Prasad Panigrahi completed his MBBS at Sriram Chandra Bhanjdeo Medical College in 1976, followed by his MD certification at Delhi University in 1983. Furthermore, received his Post-Doctoral training in Cardiac-Anesthesiology, Neuro-Anesthesiology and Critical Care from Sri Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology in 1984. Dr. Panigrahi has inspired and coordinated advances in healthcare as a medical educator, as a published author for SCB Medical College, enhanced his skills in Cardiac Anesthesiology and Critical care at Dunedin Hospital, Otago Medical School, New Zealand.
In 1995 joined Indraprastha Apollo hospitals, as a Senior Consultant in Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology and Critical Care, the largest greenfield hospital in India, helped establish the Cardiac surgical program along with the surgical team.
In 2001, joined Fortis Healthcare and helped them establish their first hospital in Mohali, Punjab, India. As Head of Anesthesiology and Critical Care helped set up an excellent facility which is presently one of the best in North India.
In 2004, came back to Delhi and helped Maxhealthcare set up their first hospital in India. Chairman Anesthesiology and Medical Advisor established the Cardiac, Neuro and multi-specialty hospitals. In 2006 Maxhealthcare was the first in Australasia to have an Operating MRI Brainsuite. Subsequently intimately involved in helping commission a chain of hospitals across Delhi National Capital Region and hospitals in North India.
Since 2012 working as the Group Head of Medical Strategy and Operations for Fortis Healthcare, which along with Apollo are the two largest Healthcare providers in India. Present role responsible for clinician engagement, Quality and developing innovative health program designs for monitoring clinical outcomes.
Part of the working group of ICHOM for developing outcome measures for CAD (coronary artery disease) and now on the Steering Committee for CAD at ICHOM.
Molly E. Cook, M.Ed, MBA
Molly is a senior director at PSB Research, a research-based consultancy in Washington, DC specializing in positioning and communications strategy. In her current role, she assists corporate and issue-advocacy clients navigate crisis situations, plan successful marketing campaigns, and pinpoint winning messages that enhance their brands and ultimately, their reputation.
Molly has led engagements with numerous Fortune 500 clients, with a particular focus on pharmaceutical, healthcare, and technology industries. Molly’s particular areas of interest include market segmentation, brand strategy, and messaging research. She has conducted extensive research across the US, Europe, and Asia with C-suite executives, physicians, managed care decision makers, and patients.
Formerly, Molly designed and led quantitative research studies as a consultant to several US government organizations, including the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the Department of Health and Human Services. Molly holds a M.B.A. from the George Washington University, with concentrations in international business and marketing. Molly also holds a M.Ed. from The Loyola University Chicago and B.A. degrees in Economics and Government from the College of William and Mary.
Scott LaGanga, MBA, MPAP
With more than 15 years of global advocacy, public policy and strategic communications experience, Scott serves as senior vice president of global advocacy and strategic alliances at the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA). In this role, he leads a team responsible for external stakeholder relations on behalf of the U.S. biopharmaceutical sector, which includes frequent outreach to patient groups, health care providers, business leaders, organized labor, venture capital and academic institutions. Scott also serves as executive director of the Partnership for Safe Medicines (PSM), a public private partnership of more than 70 organizations dedicated to combating counterfeit and unsafe medicines around the globe.
In this role at PhRMA, he is the creator and executive manager of public and private initiatives in more than 20 countries, working with 100+ international partner organizations on issues ranging from the integration of global health systems to increasing protections for intellectual property rights.
Formerly, Scott was executive director and co-founder of the Property Rights Alliance, a Washington, D.C.-based advocacy organization dedicated to the protection of physical and intellectual property rights, both domestically and worldwide. Scott completed an MBA at George Washington University in 2009, with concentrations in international business and management. He also holds an MPAP in public affairs and politics from the Bloustein School of Planning and Policy at Rutgers University and a BA in political science from the University of Maryland, College Park.
